Creeping Jacob's Ladder (Polemonium reptans) is a delicate perennial plant with slender stems bearing pinnate leaves composed of leaflets arranged in pairs along the stem, creating an appearance reminiscent of ladder rungs. Its small, bell-shaped flowers, pale blue to purple, sometimes white, are grouped in terminal clusters that add an attractive and subtle touch to the garden. It blooms in spring and early summer, brightening up moist meadows, open woodlands, edges, and riverbanks where it thrives in well-drained, organic-rich soils.
