The Canada Lily (Lilium canadense) is considered one of the most elegant lily species in North America. This tall plant, reaching between 1 and 2 meters in height, is distinguished by its magnificent bell-shaped, drooping orange-yellow flowers, adorned with chocolate brown spots near the center and reddish-orange anthers. It thrives particularly well in moist soils, making it an excellent choice for riverbanks or gardens with consistently damp soil. Very attractive to butterflies, the Canada Lily is also appreciated by deer and various small mammals, and it is vulnerable to picking. Medicinal and Culinary Uses
The Canada Lily possesses several medicinal properties. The plant's bulbs are antispasmodic, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, and tonic. The bulbs are traditionally used to relieve muscle pain and spasms. They are also consumed as an infusion or decoction to treat bronchial affections and to promote the elimination of toxins due to their diuretic properties.

Ecological Roles
The Canada Lily plays an important role in natural ecosystems by attracting various pollinators, especially butterflies, which feed on its nectar. However, it is vulnerable to pressure from excessive picking.
